The wood behind the work

The Brontë sisters grew up in the parsonage at Haworth, surrounded by moorland, church, and schoolroom. Charlotte wrote Jane Eyre here. Emily wrote Wuthering Heights here. Anne wrote The Tenant of Wildfell Hall here.

When timber from the old schoolroom and church became available, we acquired it carefully — and with the blessing of the church at Haworth. Each piece of wood carries the atmosphere of that place: the cold stone floors, the candlelight, the scratch of pen on paper.

We craft it by hand in our workshop in York into gifts worthy of the story.

Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.

— Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights

Certified provenance

Every Brontë Woods gift is accompanied by a written certificate from the Reverend of Haworth Church at the moment of reclamation confirming the origin of the wood. Not a reproduction. Not Brontë-inspired. The actual timber — from the schoolroom and church where the Brontës lived, worshipped, and wrote. A piece of literary history you can hold in your hand.
